Ford Customers - Important
Notice
Ford has released a new material specification, Ford
WSS-M99P1111-A, Standard Requirements for Production Materials.
This new material specification contains all of the "standard paragraphs",
(examples, Quality System Requirements, Supplier Responsibility, Conditioning
and Test Conditions) which allows Ford to remove them from all other
material specifications. This action has a number of benefits, the most
significant being:
- All material
specifications will include the most current standard paragraphs.
(Many different versions of the standard paragraphs exist in Ford's
current material specifications).
- When revisions
occur to any of the standards paragraphs, only Ford
WSS-M99P1111-A will need to be revised.
How will this affect you?
- The material
specifications will no longer include the standard paragraphs. You
will need to refer to Ford
WSS-M99P1111-A for this information.
- The monthly updates
will be much larger during this transition until every material specification
is revised.
What action must you take?
Every material specification will include a requirement that states
"Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Company's
Standard Requirements for Production Materials (Ford
WSS-M99P1111-A)". Keep this specification handy for easy reference.
If you are a hard copy subscriber, you may want to file a copy of Ford
WSS-M99P1111-A in the front of each volume.
