SEARCH MEISTER OF THE MONTH
Ms. Kathy Iannacone, Purchasing Manager, Denver, CO.

Ms. Iannacone is this month's winner of our highly coveted (ahem!) SEARCH MEISTER award. She saved her company (formerly US West) time and money by using the IHS Parts Center (formerly TechSavvy) in her searches for parts.

Here, in her own words, is how the system works for her:

"TechSavvy has been very useful to me. I work with a lot of old blueprints. The Bill Of Materials is outdated, and I am unable to use many of their suggested sources (some are no longer in business). [The Parts Center] service has allowed me to find these parts, by part number and through a different supplier.

For example, I had a print dated 1983. The part I needed was originally from LI-HI Valve and Coupling in Ohio. I could not find them, so I [turned to the IHS Parts Center.] It gave me two potential suppliers. One company's distributor couldn't ID the part. The other firm also couldn't ID, but by using the national stock number they ID'd the first company's product number and I got my part. Problem solved. Thank you!"
