Are Engineering Standards Developed Fast Enough?

In a recent address, Dr. Mark W. Hurwitz, CAE, President and CEO of the American National Standards Institute, said, "...We must be constantly aware of, and responsive to, the impact of forces around us---including the need for faster time-to-market for new standards..."

What Happened to industry.net?

Industry.net was ahead of its time. In an attempt to bake a better business, former Lotus Development Corp. chairman, Jim Manzi, opened the oven too soon on hot topics like: industrial B2B, exchanges, and e-commerce. The result: industry.net fell.

In 1997, IHS Engineering, the owner of Global Engineering Documents, purchased industry.net and promised to rebuild it.
