IHS Integrates Browser Plug-In for Technical Information Retrieval
IHS TechConnect(TM) cuts customer search time and speeds access
DENVER, July 25, 2001 - IHS Engineering today introduced its browser-based document search tool for technical information. IHS TechConnect allows subscribers to quickly jump from Web browsing to technical standards, specifications and parts information, cutting search and access times in half for engineering and technical professionals.

IHS TechConnect works as a browser plug-in that automatically creates links from any Web page, and quickly connects subscribers to the world's largest collection of technical information. The IHS library houses over 20 million pages of electronic documents from over 450 sources including IEEE, ANSI, ASTM, BSI, SAE, DIN, military specifications from DoD, corporate standards from GM, Ford, and many more.

IHS TechConnect will be offered in two versions. First, IHS customers can purchase it as a productivity feature to their existing specifications and standards subscription.
Second, IHS is offering customized versions of IHS TechConnect that can integrate proprietary customer databases or internal information with an IHS subscription. IHS will also customize IHS TechConnect to integrate information from the HAYSTACK government parts database and the CatalogXpress vendor databases.
