Scope

This standard applies to bushings for use as components of liquid-immersed transformers and liquid-immersed reactors. This standard does not apply to the following: - High-voltage cable terminations (potheads) - Bushings for circuit breakers - Bushings for instrument transformers including station service voltage transformers - Bushings for test transformers - Bushings in which the internal insulation is provided by a gas - Bushings applied with gaseous insulation (other than air at atmospheric pressure) external to the bushing - Bushings for automatic circuit reclosers and line sectionalizers - Bushings for oil-less and oil-poor apparatus - Bushings for dc applications

Purpose

This standard defines the special terms used, service conditions, rating, general requirements, and test procedure for bushings. See IEEE Std C57.19.01™, IEEE Std C57.19.02™, and IEEE Std C57.19.04™ for specific listings of values of electrical and mechanical characteristics, dimensions, and other related requirements that are defined or described in this standard. IEEE Std C57.19.100™ [B4] provides an application guide for power apparatus bushings defined in this standard.

Abstract

Revision Standard - Active. Bushings that have basic impulse insulation levels of above 110 kV for use as components of liquid-immersed transformers and liquid-immersed reactors are addressed by this standard.
