Description / Abstract:

FOREWORD

Through the cooperation of The Crowell-Collier Publishing Company a series of questions on motor oil and lubrication, designed by the Marketing Research Committee of the Division of Marketing, American Petroleum Institute, was included in the Crowell-Collier 1955 Automotive Survey.

The questions were designed to determine where people take their cars for oil changes and lubrication jobs, the intervals between the performance of these services, and the kind of motor oils they buy.

A total of 4,165 interviews were conducted to develop the data presented herewith, and a series of tabulations of the replies was made.
