The management practices described in this recommended practice are
intended to act as a bridge between API's Environmental, Health and
Safety Mission and Guiding Principles and activities of individual
companies that are aimed at improving environmental, health, and
safety performance. The self-assessment process described in this
recommended practice provides a mechanism for measuring progress in
implementing the management practices. This recommended practice also
provides a compilation of resources to assist API members with their
implementation of the management practices.
