IThis course is designed for individuals involved in the design, construction, commissioning, operating, implementation, and maintenance of equipment rooms, as well as those involved in the development and design of electronic equipment.

Proper and fault-tolerant operation within data processing environments, like the data center, can only occur if there is alignment between equipment manufacturers, facility designers, and operations personnel. The ASHRAE Technical Committee 9.9 guidelines for environmental conditions deal with this need, and this Data Centers course is about these guidelines.

This course is made up of 3 inter-dependent modules which are also sold separately and have their own PDHs.

After completing this course, you will be able to:
• Explain:
o The purpose of the Thermal Guidelines created by the ASHRAE committee
o The significance of temperature and humidity measurement in Datacom facilities
o The significance of Facility Health and Audit tests, Equipment Installation Verification tests, and Equipment Troubleshooting tests
o Airflow guidelines for the placement of data processing and communication equipment
o How to obtain heat release information from information technology equipment
• List the:
o Allowable and recommended environmental conditions for data centers and other data processing environments
o Equipment room airflow guidelines for maximizing the thermal and physical capabilities of the equipment room
• Describe the types of Facility Health and Audit tests, Equipment Installation Verification tests, and Equipment Troubleshooting tests
