Description / Abstract:

This specification covers steel sheet of drawing quality special killed in coils and cut length, zinc-coated (galvanized) on continuous lines. Material of this quality is intended for use in fabricating an identified part where drawing or forming is severe or where the material is to be essentially free from significant changes in mechanical properties over a period of time. "Drawing quality special killed" should be specified where the formed material is to be essentially free of such surface disturbances as stretcher strains or fluting without the need of prior roller leveling. Material of this quality is produced with any of the types of coating prescribed in the latest revision of Specification A 525 or A 525M. Because of the severity of formation, the maximum coating weight is normally limited to that specified as Coating Designation G 90 or Z 275.

This specification is applicable for orders in either inch-pound units (as A 642) or in SI units (as A 642M).

Material supplied under this specification shall meet the applicable requirements of the latest revision of SpecifiCation A 525 or A 525M unless otherwise specified herein.
