Description / Abstract:

This test method defines procedures for hydrostatic infiltration testing of new installations of vitrified clay pipe lines, to demonstrate the structural integrity of the installed line. Refer to Practice C12.

This test method is suitable for testing gravity-flow pipe lines constructed of vitrified clay pipe or combinations of clay pipe and other pipe materials.

This test method is applicable to the testing of the pipe lines only. Manholes or other structures should be tested separately.

The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematical conversions to SI units that are provided for information only and are not considered standard.

This standard does not purport to address all of the safety problems, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
