Description / Abstract:

This test method yields quantitative information regarding the degree of blocking existing between layers of plastic film (Note 1). It is not intended to measure susceptibility to blocking.

The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as the standard.

NOTE 1—Development of this test has been done with films of 0.025 to 0.10 mm (0.001 to 0.004 in.) in thickness.

This test method is applicable to the comparison of films of different materials. It may be used to study films prepared by different processes, or under varied processing conditions. This test method may also be used for quality control.

This standard may involve hazardous materials, operations, and equipment. This standard does not purport to address all of the safety problems associated with its use. It is the responsibility of whoever uses this standard to consult and establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
