Description / Abstract:

1. Scope

1.1 This practice covers the selection of the electrode material used in optical emission spectroscopy based on physical properties (Note 1). This discussion will be limited primarily to the effects of various grades of graphitized carbon on d-c arc analysis.

NOTE 1--The physical properties of electrodes are one of many factors to be considered for obtaining optimum analytical results.
