Description / Abstract:

These are the first editions of CSA Standards A82.4-M, A82.5-M and A82.6-M on Structural Clay Tile written in SI (Le Système international d'unités).

This Publication comprised of three Standards, A82.4-M, Structural Clay Load- Bearing Wall Tile; A82.5-M, Structural Clay Non-Load-Bearing Tile; and A82.6-M, Standard Methods for Sampling and Testing Structural Clay Tile, is part of the series of CSA Standards on Brick and Hollow Tile (A82.l-M through A82.6-M and A82.8-M). CSA Standards A82.4-M, A82.5-M and A82.6-M were converted to meet the requirements for metric conversion in the construction indus try.

These Standards may be used parallel with the corresponding technically compatible Standards A82.4-1954 (reaffirmed 1972); A82.5-1954 (reaffirmed 1972); and A82.6-1954 (reaffirmed 1972) until metric measurements dominate the construction industry. At that time the technically compatible standards will be withdrawn. These are however not "soft-converted" versions of the technically compatible standards but are hard rationalized metric standards.

These Standards were prepared by the Technical committee on Brick and Hollow Tile under the jurisdiction of the Standards Steering Committee on Building Materials and Products and were formally approved by these Committees.

Note: CSA Publications are subjected to periodic review in order to keep them abreast of progress in the industries concerned. Suggestions for improvement will be welcomed at all times. They will be recorded and in due course brought to the attention of the appropriate Committee for consideration.

Also, requests for interpretation will be accepted by the Committee. They shodd be worded in such Q manner as to permit a simple I1yes" or IfnoIf answer based on the literal text of the requirement concerned.

All enquiries regarding this Standard should be addressed to Canadian Standards Association, 178 Rexdale Boulevard, Rexdale, Ontario M9W 1R3.
