Description / Abstract:

PREFACE

The purpose of this Manual is to make available to Canadian Industry, those details of the Unified Screw Thread which are required for every day use in the work-shop and drafting room, and is especially intended as a reference for engineers, draftsmen, students and others. While the data given agrees with those in CSA standards B1.1-1949, they are in condensed form, having been simplified and abridged as well as re-arranged to facilitate finding thread dimensions for any given size.

This manual is not intended to replace CSA Standard B1.1*, as it does not include some technical details and data on special threads, and formulae and details of the American National Threads (Classes 1, 2 and 3) are not included. Furthermore, it does not over special forms of thread such as pipe thread, or buttress thread, nor any details  of threaded products other than the threads.

The Manual therefore serves as a supplement to existing information, which designed and users of threaded products may require in a condensed form.
