Description / Abstract:

This Standard applies to ground fault circuit interrupters (GFCIs) intended for installation in non—hazardous locations at nominal system voltages of 600 V and less, in accordance with CSA Standard C22.l, Canadian Electrical Code, Part I, in order to automatically deenergize some part of an electrical installation.

This Standard includes provisions for Class A GFCIs, the use of which for protection from electric shock is specified in the Rules of CSA Standard C22.1, Canadian Electrical Code, Part I

This Standard applies also to GFCIs other than Class A.

This Standard includes minimum requirements for the function, construction and performance of interrupters.
