Description / Abstract:

This document describes the test method used to quantitatively determine the percent cohesive failure of an adhesive seal using production intent parts and a test coupon.

Production intent parts are any metallic components that have been processed by a supplier using normal production equipment and processes.

Cohesive Failure: the adhesive material is primarily stuck to both metallic surfaces during disassembly (failure occurs primarily within the adhesive material).

Interface Failure: the adhesive material has pulled away from the metal surface during disassembly.
