PURPOSE

The software Product Specification (SPS) consists of the Software Design document (SDD) and source code listings for a computer Software Configuration Item (CSI).

Upon Government approval and authentication following the Physical configuration Audit (PCA), the SPS establishes the Product Baseline for the CSCI.

Until establishment of the Product Baseline, the contents of the SPS are contained in the contractor's Developmental Configuration for the CSCI.

The SPS is used by the Government to establish the Product Baseline.
