This document lays down rules for the structure and presentation of DIN documents that adopt ISO or IEC documents, as a rule only in German translation, in exceptional cases together with one or more original language versions, or in justified cases solely as the original English language version.
In the following text the term “document” refers to the following ISO or IEC document types, except where a differentiation is necessary: International Standards (ISO or IEC), Technical Specifications (TS), Technical Reports (TR), Publicly Available Specifications (PAS), International Workshop Agreements (IWA of ISO) or Industry Technical Agreements (ITA of IEC), informative documents of IEC (Technology Trend Assessments, TTA) and Guides. These documents are adopted either as DIN Standards, DIN specifications, supplements thereof or other DIN publications. The possibilities of adoption are given in Table A.1.
The present document also applies to the adoption of electronic versions of documents published by ISO or IEC.
