Description / Abstract:

The determination of the force-deflection curve of elastomeric components. This test will also give some indication of the creep properties of the elastomer.

The determination of the force required to act on the elastomeric component in order to strain it to the vehicle installation conditions.

PURPOSE

This standard is test method that determines the deformation characteristics under a bi-axial stress of elastomeric components used in vehicles in the temperature range -30°C to +150°C under a constant velocity.
