This specification covers the requirements for one type and five classes of electrodeposited chromium-molybdenum plating on steel and titanium alloys.

The electrodeposited chromium-molybdenum plating on steel and titanium alloys shall be furnished in the following classes, as specified (see 6.2):
                   Class 1                 -Special for specific dimensions

                   Class 2                 For static loads or for limited
                                           life under dynamic loads (Rockwell
                                           hardness below C40)

                   Class 3                 -For unlimited life under dynamic
                                           loads (Rockwell hardness below C40)

                   Class 4                 -For static loads or for limited
                                           life under dynamic loads or
                                           combination thereof (Rockwell
                                           hardness C40 or above)

                   Class 5                 -For unlimited life under dynamic
                                           loads (Rockwell hardness C40 or
                                           above)
