This specification establishes the requirements for nickel-coated carbon (graphite) yarn and woven fiber cloth for use as a a conductive surface ply to provide lightning strike protection to composites structures. Materials described herein are typically impregnated with a compatible epoxy resin.
The nickel-coated carbon (graphite) cloth covered by this specification shall be plain-weave fabric constructed from yarns having a nominal filament count of 3,000 (3k).
