Description / Abstract:

The belt covered by this specification is worn primarily by military personnel armed with a pistol or carbine and is used to carry various items of individual equipment such as .45 caliber pistol holster; M1923, enlisted men's ammunition magazine pocket; .30 caliber, M-1 carbine or rifle ammunition magazine pocket; 30 round carbine magazine pocket; M-1942, first packet pouch; M-1910, dismounted canteen cover, which are attached to the belt by means of either belt loops or a double hook. Eyelets spaced to accommodate a double hook are provided along the bottom edge of the belt while other eyelets are located along the top edge of the belt loops or a double hook. Eyelets spaced to accommodate a double hook are provided along the bottom edge of the belt while other eyelets are located along the top edge of the belt so that when wearing the cargo and combat field pack suspenders, the suspender snaps can be attached to these eyelets and the suspenders used to help support the weight of the belt and its attached equipment.
