This Practice is based upon API 541, Third Edition, and specifies minimum requirements for general purpose applications (e.g., spared machines or non-critical service).
Purpose The purpose of this Practice is to provide a specification for purchase (including design, fabrication, inspection, testing, and shipment) of squirrel-cage induction motors for general purpose application in the process industries.
