The LEED 2009 Green Building Rating System for Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance is a set of performance standards for certifying the operations and maintenance of existing commercial or institutional buildings and high-rise residential buildings of all sizes, both public and private. The intent is to promote highperformance, healthful, durable, affordable, and environmentally sound practices in existing buildings. Prerequisites and credits in the LEED 2009 for Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance Rating System address 7 topics:

  • Water Efficiency (WE)

LEED 2009 for Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance certifications are awarded according to the following scale: Certified 40–49 points Silver 50–59 points Gold 60–79 points Platinum 80 points and above GBCI will recognize buildings that achieve 1 of these rating levels with a formal letter of certification.
