Description / Abstract:

This document establishes the requirements and test procedures for the procurement of an electronic power relay module.

The following electrical parameters reflect the 0 to 60°C end-of-life limits in table I. Beneficial comments (recommendations, additions, deletions) and any pertinent data which may be of use in improving this document should be addressed to: Commander, Naval Sea Systems Command, Code SEA-55Z3, Department of the Navy, Washington, D.C. 20362-5101 by using the self-addressed Standardization Document Improvement Proposal (DD Form 1426) appearing at the end of this document or by letter.

The module contains a three pole, double throw, break before make relay with high current and voltage switching capability. Programmable resistors permit relay power dissipation reduction at operating or holding voltages up to 35.5 Vdc.

The voltage input to the module for relay operation shall be 10 Vdc ±5 percent, 25 Vdc ±5 percent, or 32 Vdc ±5 percent.

Inductive transients from the relay coil may be suppressed by programming the internal suppression circuit across the coil.

The relay module contact rating shall be 20 amperes at 33 Vdc +0 percent, −5 percent resistive load, or 2.0 amperes ± 20 percent at 35 Vdc +0 percent, −10 percent resistive load.

All module pins assigned to each relay contact must be connected in shunt for all contact current conditions.
