ASTM A527/A527M 1990 Edition, September 28, 1990
Standard Specification for Steel Sheet, Zinc-Coated (Galvanized) by the Hot-Dip Process, Lock-Forming Quality
Additional Comments: W/D S/S BY ASTM A653/A653M
Published By:ASTM International (ASTM)
This specification covers steel sheet of lock-forming quality in coils and cut lengths, zinc-coated (galvanized). Material of this quality is intended primarily for use in fabrication where it is to be subjected to machine lock forming. The high speed forming by the machines imposes requirements on both the base metal and the coating which are in excess of the formability requirements of commercial quality (ASTM Specification A 526/A 526M). Lock-forming quality material is produced with any of the types of coating prescribed in latest revision of Specification A525 or A525M. Because of the degree of formation, the maximum coating weight is normally limited to that specified as Coating Designation G 90 or Z 275.
This specification is applicable for orders in either inch-pound units (as A527) or in SI units (as A 527M).
Material supplied under this specification shall meet the applicable requirements of the latest revision of Specification A 525 or A 525M unless otherwise specified herein.
